1985 Ferrari 156/85
driven by Michele Alboreto
San Marino Grand Prix
Custom built by Buzz Lockwood
1:43 scale
Alboreto won the second place World Drivers Championship title in the 156/85. This amazingly detailed model was professionally built by Buzz Lockwood in 1988 using the world renowned super-kit from Vincenzo Bosica. Buzz Lockwood is one of the leading individual model makers in the USA. His works are in some of the most prominent collections. Buzz is no longer building, and rarely does a piece of his come up for sale.
The combination of a Bosica super-kit with the superior skills of one of the best specialist pro-builders of 1:43 scale models is truly the pinnacle of quality, detail, and desirability. The Bosica 156/85 kits were produced during 1986-1987. They were the absolute best, and highest detail level ever made by any maker of 1:43 scale F-1 kits, and they still are to this day - none better. Good luck finding one of these kits, or a rare custom built model such as this today.
This piece of automotive art is built from hundreds of parts, comprised of white metal, brass, aluminum, rubber, and leather, which the seat is trimmed in. The body features a hand rubbed lacquer paint finish, and three of the panels are removable. The steering linkage of the front wheels is functional and works in unison with the tiny steering wheel. This piece is signed and dated on its underside: Buzz 3/88. It comes with its original custom made acrylic display case as shown.
